Saturday With Daddy

Last night in the middle of the night there was a knock on the door, and when Mommy looked out the peep-hole, Daddy was standing on the front step.
Well, of course she let him in and when it was time for Mom and I to go to bed in her bed, Daddy joined us. I couldn't get to sleep too easily because it was so exciting, but I guess at some point I must have nodded off, because the next thing I knew, I was waking up again. Daddy was still there!
Of course, Mom and I let him sleep in a little bit and we went downstairs to take care of the mundane morning tasks. Mom made breakfast, and I turned it into body paint.
Then I found the toy Daddy brought home for me. It was still in it's package when I found it, but I knew it was for me and I insisted Mom open it up so I could play with it. We didn't think Daddy would mind that I didn't wait for him to come downstairs before I played with it. It is a cool little truck with some plastic animals and a couple of shovels. I dig it! (ha ha)
When Daddy got up, I showed off all of my new tricks. I walked for him, and showed him some of my signs, and how nicely I pet the kitty.
His being home has inspired me to reach new milestones, like the 2nd step on the ladder, for example.
Also, I am starting to turn my word for "kitty" into a 2-syllable word. It's more fun to say than my original version.
For lunch Mom and Dad had peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. I had cheerios, oranges, and some banana. We all ate together at the table, like a family.
Notice I get to sit at the head of the table. Enough said.
This afternoon Daddy and I took a little snooze together while Mom made some phone calls for her business. I didn't realize it was possible to fall asleep without milk, but Daddy said it was.
It worked, but if it didn't, we had a deal going. If I tried hard enough, but didn't fall asleep, then daddy would try to lactate.
Mom and Dad made lasagna for dinner. They needed to borrow a pan from the neighbor because we didn't have the right size in our collection. I made sure to double check, though. Yeah, they're right, we didn't have any 8 by 8s. We had lots of shiny by noisy, though.
What do you mean someone's going to have to clean this up?
