A Fruitful Day

This morning Mom gave me two kinds of fruit for breakfast. I had a good sized segment of banana first. I sat in my chair for that.

I did take a tumble out of the chair a little after this photo was taken. I stood up, and before Mom could react, I made the chair move & lost my balance.

She picked me up and dusted me off, gave me a kiss, rinsed off my banana and set me back down.

When I was done with the banana, I got to try some mango for the first time. I really enjoy it.

Of course, Mom and I figured it would be okay for me to sit on the floor while I ate it, though.

Then we went to a toy library to meet Owen and Charlie. It's neat because you can play with the toys and you can check them out and borrow them like library books.

I liked playing with the instruments. My favorites are the drum and the triangle. They didn't have a xylophone there like they do at toddler time. But they did have these anklets with bells on them that Mom thought would be a good idea to bring home with us. I think it would be really hard to sneak up on Alex with these on.

Mom picked out two videos for me to borrow. One is Elmo talking about Babies and Doggies and Farms. And the other is a couple of children doing sign language.

I watched them when we got home. (After my nap, of course.)

I don't understand why we don't watch more TV around here. It's captivating!

(Actually, in both of these photos, I am talking to the TV.)

We had Waffles and Bananas for lunch. I am getting better with the fork, too. I stabbed the food myself. I also did a pretty good job getting the food into my mouth.

Of course when I had had enough of a challenge, and I was just plain hungry, I ate the rest with my hands.

We took another nap after this. I got kind of cranky. I might be nearing a growth spurt.

When we got up, Mom gave me some slices of a peach. That was good stuff! She used what I didn't eat to add to a milkshake for herself.

Man! I wish I could eat ice cream. She only lets me taste a little at a time.

This evening we found out that Daddy might be coming home earlier than we expected. That's good news!

I'm excited.

But, hey, who can blame me?

Mom says I look especially like Daddy in this picture. She says it's the expression on my face that really brings it out.

Does anyone else see it?

Comments:
There have been quite a few pictures where Grandma thinks you look like Daddy, only much cuter of course. You are growing up so much and grandma and grandpa miss you something awful. Tell Mom to put you on a scale and give us your height and weight soon so we know just how big you are really getting. We sure enjoy getting to see lots of pictures of you, unfortunately it isn't as good as really getting to see you--but it is the next best thing. Send our love to Mommy and Daddy too, when you talk to him. All my love, Grandma.
