Big Strides

Wow! What a day.

First of all, I've got to tell you. When I hit milestones, I knock a few out at the same time.

This morning, Mom was nursing me before we pulled ourselves out of bed, and she was talking to me. Well, at some point in her conversation, she asked me, "Where's mommy's nose?" I gave her a goofy smile, because, trust me, Mom knows where her nose is. But she asked me again, so I humored her and I reached up and grabbed her nose. She was delighted! I tell you, she is so easy to please.

Later in the day was when I hit the jackpot, though. We were having a snack-nurse on the couch and (wow, I'm noticing a pattern here) when she set me down, I took four steps into the room and then fell over. Mom stopped breathing. Then she got off the couch and hugged me and praised me and she set me on my feet again, so I took another four steps and fell over.

She promptly put me to work vacuuming.

Who the heck has been leaving these Cheerios all over the darn floor?

Now, if you look closely at the above photo, you'll notice the way I'm holding my right hand. Mom interpreted that as the sign she's been teaching me for when my diaper is stinky. And if you scratch and sniff the screen, you may find that my diaper was, indeed, quite stinky.

We tried to spend some time outside today. Mom built a play-area for me out of lots of empty boxes. It was fun, but the fog rolled in and it got awfully chilly awfully quick. We weren't out half an hour before we had to go back inside.

It's a shame because I was quite enjoying my little boxhenge.

Oh well, back to work.

This evening we went next door to meet our neighbors and so Mom could do a facial for our lady neighbor. Her 8 year old son kept me entertained. It was lots of fun!

When we got home, mom had a great idea. Since we don't have a high-chair, she's been trying to feed me in my walker, but I have a tendency to get distracted and run off when she does that. Well, today, she put me in my stroller to feed me instead. It worked so well, I ate the whole jar of food in one sitting. I was stuffed.

Mom says I'm growing up fast. She says my feet are huge.

The better to walk with, my dear.
