Christmas Eve 2006

Today we got lots of rest.

We slept in until noon and then

we took a 2 hour nap this afternoon, too.

Daddy has been lighting the pellet stove to keep us warm. Our apartment is pretty drafty. We can see light around our front door.

It's always been cold in here and Mom and Dad were afraid to light the stove because they were afraid I'd touch it and burn myself.

Well Dad and I went to Home Depot the other day and picked out a gate to put in front of the stove to make sure I don't accidentally touch it.

Now I just have to keep reminding Mom and Dad that it's hot and they shouldn't touch it either.

Then this evening we went out to see the light display in a park up North. It was outside in the rain and we had to walk through, but it was so pretty that it didn't matter. At the top of one of the trails Santa gave me a candy cane. Mom and Dad didn't let me eat it yet. I really like the mint flavor, though.

When we got home we each got to open one Christmas present.

I opened a new book!

I was so excited that I got up after opening it and headed to the closest chair so Daddy could read it to me.

I LOVE books! Especially the ones with flaps that I can open while Mom and Dad read the words.

Rusty had opened a new ball for me while we were out yesterday, so Mom and Dad tried to hide it in the cat room, but I can climb the gates now, and I did to go get it. That was no problem.

The real challenge came when Mom and Dad said it was time to go to bed. I wanted to take the ball, the book and my juice up with me, but I couldn't figure out how to get all 3 in my arms.

I decided that if I finished my juice before I went up, that would simplify things a little bit. Then I realized it would be hard to play ball in bed, so I chose to bring my book.

Daddy said that was a good choice.

Come on, Mom, Time for bed.

All big boys have to brush their teeth before bed.

And Mommies should always make sure you got all the cookies out of your teeth.

Gotta take good care of my new book.

And I'm gonna be watching for Santa All Night Long...

Yep, I'm still awake...

Out of Order Posting

Check out Dec 6th, there is a new entry that came up before the last one I posted for some reason.

I'll figure out all the tricks one day.

In the meantime, I will sing a song for you:

(To the tune of "What Shall We Do With a Scurvy Pirate")

What shall we do with a sticky baby?
What shall we do with a nutty baby?
What shall we do with a messy baby?
Make him take a bath!

Silent Night

Just Doing my Duty...

I've been getting better and better at this potty training stuff.
Daddy tells me it's very important to learn how to aim. I'm always so proud of myself when I'm done. I even get to flush the toilet myself. Can't forget to wash my hands.
Another "job" well done.

Thanksgiving - Belated Blogging

Lately Daddy's been home a lot more often. I really enjoy my time with him.

We got to hang out together on Thanksgiving. It's the first Thanksgiving we've ever had to ourselves as a family.

So while Mom cooked Thanksgiving dinner...
Dad and I dug through the Christmas Boxes and tested last year's lights.

Before we ate, Daddy gave me a brief theological lesson.

Then we ate ungodly amounts of food.

I went straight for the cranberries.

Daddy held me and

encouraged me to eat some of the other stuff, too.
It was all so yummy!

But you can't beat those cranberries!
