Potty Training

Last week Mom put me on the potty seat and I tinkled and it made her so happy that I repeated it the next day.

Mom thought they might have been flukes, but since I did it ***3 TIMES*** today already, Mom says we're really starting our potty training.

How exciting!

Official baby on toilet photos will be posted as soon as I'm comfortable enough on the potty seat that I don't jump up to grab the camera.

Independence Day & More

On Independence Day we went to watch the fireworks from Daddy's Work.

They had the ship all decorated for the holiday. Daddy had to work on the ship for part of the night, but he got to sit with us for quite some time, too.

We watched the fireworks people shot off across the harbor.

The fireworks were synchronized to some music. I figured I better lend my hand at tuning the stereo to make sure we could hear the music alright.

You can see I'm running in this picture, but it's not because I was scared of the fireworks. I wasn't scared at all. Even the loud ones didn't bother me. Actually, in this photo, I'm running with the other children. You can tell I'm having fun because I'm sticking my tongue out.

The next night Mommy and I stayed in a hotel with the pets while Daddy sprayed our home for fleas. Lots of people get fleas at this time of year, but Mom and Dad didn't want to keep ours.

The hotel was neat because it had lots of new stuff for me to get into.

And for the pets to get into.

When we got home, the carpet was still a little bit wet, so Mommy kept my shoes on and didn't fuss too badly at me when I climbed up on her chair.

Here I am playing with my little egg shaker. It rattles, so it's very entertaining.

So what if I end up being an egghead?

Then Mom gave me a marshmallow to snack on.

Watch the transformation - Sweet Baby eating sugar

To slightly hyper, happy baby.

To agressive sugar high baby

To Monster Hyped Up Baby who won't nap until next week.

Okay, time for a real meal.

Cheers!

Climbing and Sand Castles

One day this week we got up early because we got a phone call. We got to wave goodbye to Daddy as he rode his bike to work.

Then we went to Parent Cafe and I played on the slide.

Lenny and I played in the fort.

In this picture I'm probably watching to see if Daddy is coming home.

Sometimes I like to climb Mom's desk. She always has neat stuff up there.

Thursday Rusty got sick, so we had to take him to the vet. Mom says he has an infection in his tummy.

The vet had him on morphene and an IV for fluids because he is throwing everything up. Poor puppy. When we took him in to the vet he was crying really loudly because of how bad his tummy hurt. I was crying really loudly because we skipped naptime and postponed lunch to go into the vet. Mom said she wanted to cry, too. She should have, everyone else was.

Friday was better, though. First we went to playtime and nursing mothers' circle - where they always have food. I had some juice and cheese and crackers and hummus. Num!

Then I took a short nap in the car while we went home to get our jackets, and then we hit the beach for a sand castle building party.

We met up with Lenny and his mommy there.

Then someone upwind started blowing bubbles!

That was awesome!

Then we came home and ate some soup that Mom made last night.

Then Mom went out to make a delivery and check on Rusty. She says he's not hurting as badly, so they turned off the morphene, but he's still on fluids. She says he didn't even lift his head to greet her. He's exhausted from all the throwing up and dehydration.

I miss my puppy. I hope he feels better soon. When we took him in, I was petting him and hugging him and kissing him. He knows I love him. Sometimes he kisses me, too.

Mom says I'm developing a very good sense of compassion. I am always hugging people, or offering kisses to people, or patting my friends gently. Today I walked up to Trilogy while his mommy was nursing him and I rubbed his hair for him. Then I went and brought him a toy in case he got bored while he was snacking.

Mom says that compassion and gentleness will come in handy when I meet my new cousin in August. Cousin Isaac was born on Thursday evening in St. Louis. I can't wait to meet him.
