What an Awesome Day!
We had a great day today.

We needed to get some office work done this morning.
I was on top of it.
Then Mom made me some fruit salad for lunch.

I Looooooooove Fruit Salad!!!!!

Good stuff.

Then we went to the River this afternoon.

The water was kind of cold, so after getting brave enough to walk halfway across the river, I had daddy pick me up.

The rocks were kind of slick, so daddy had to walk carefully. No he's not doing a riverdance.

Daddy handed me to Mommy
and then Mom walked into the water with me.

I was getting kinda sleepy, so we started back towards the car.
Mom and I picked out lots of rocks for the garden on our way back.
But the fun didn't end there!
To be continued....

A Day at the Street Fair
Today we went to the street fair down town. It was lots of fun.
I got my face painted and I got a balloon. Then I got this cool hat from the Coast Guard Auxilliary boat. Mom told them it was going to get me into trouble with Daddy.
We ran into Charlie and his mom. We also got to hang out with Garret and his mom, but my mom didn't ask permission to put Garret's picture on my website.
We all watched a puppet show together. The clown lady was funny. She had some dolls that moved on their own. At least, that's what I thought.
I think I may have it figured out, though.
So I found a big stuffed cat
and...
I tried to turn it into my own puppet.
I had so much fun. I was in a pretty good mood all day. I've been clingy lately, though.
Mom says it's because I'm cutting more teeth.
She also says I'm hitting an intellectual growth spurt. I'm starting to get more articulate both with my sign language and my speech.
I've been starting to say things that sound more and more like"stars," "up," "down," "yeah," "no," "dog," "Daddy," "hello," "Dix," "Alex," "juice," and of course, I've got Mama, and "ow" pretty well good. I'm starting to make the B sound for banana. I also am using the same sign for when I have a diaper that needs changing or if Mom or Dad is using the bathroom.
I am also imitating a lot lately. Daddy likes to stick the keys in his mouth and shake his head because it makes the keys jingle and it makes me laugh. Today I put the keys in my mouth and shook my head at Daddy even though he didn't do it yet today. It made him laugh.
And, Mommy says this is pretty big, but when I got into the car this afternoon after the fair, I looked in the mirror and saw the paint on my nose. So I reached my hand up to wipe at it.
According to this study, "The development of self-recognition has been studied mainly by examining infants' responses to their reflections in mirrors. The definitive test is whether or not the infant is capable of using the reflection to notice and respond to a mark on the face or head by touching the mark. The mark should be inconspicuous to the infant not looking in a mirror. In general, studies agree that this response appears in some infants around 15 months of age and is shown by a majority of infants by 24 months of age. "

So basically, I'm pretty smart. Cool, huh?

Check Out the Hair

It wasn't so bad.
She just made me take out the trash.
Then Dad and Mom and Rusty and I went for a walk.
We stopped in the park and blew some bubbles.

Yes, Mom put some gel in my hair and spiked it.
