Some Grandparents Came to Visit - LOTS of pics!

A couple of weeks ago Mom and Dad told me that Grandma and Grandpa Nelson and Great Grandma and Grandpa Buehrig were coming to see me.
So Mom and Dad and I got in the car - just like any other time.
And when we arrived, I was excited to get out - just like any other time...

But when I got out, there were a bunch of family members standing there, waiting for me - not like many other times.
First I greeted Grandpa with a High Five and some Knuckles.

And of course he got a hug, too.
Then I gave hugs to all the other grandparents who came along - Grandma first.

I like Grandpa pretty well - we played together a lot in the restaurant.

After Lunch I took everyone on a walk through the Redwoods.

Grandpa sure has some fun ideas!

I had to try it after he got down.

No, Daddy, I don't want to leave the forest.

Well, okay, since you bribed me with presents...

Come on guys, keep up, there's presents to open!

See, THAT's what I'm talking about!

Grandma and Grandpa shipped the presents to us ahead of their arrival and Mom tried to hide them from me. I found them, though, and had been anticipating present time for 2 days by the time the Grandparents arrived.

"Thanks for the cool ball, Grandma!"

I'm really good about saying "thank you".

How many generations does it take to free Elmo from his box?

OOH! A Bike! (Well, a Trike, anyway!)

Daddy and I put the tricycle together...together.

I think it's ready, Dad. The bell works!

Look out world, here I come!

This makes me feel so big!

Hmmm, pedaling is tricky - maybe it's easier to push it.

And of course - where there are Daddies and Grandpas, there is change!

Later during the Grandparents' visit, we went to see the lighthouse - but I fell asleep. Oops.

That's okay, Daddy carried me - He's strong!

Mom loves this picture, and I think others will, too.

Well, since I took my nap already, I was up for a while - but Great Grandpa needed a nap - I thought it must be because he was bored, so I brought him lots of stuff to play with.

He was surprised to wake up to so many exciting things to entertain him!

But ultimately, the Grandparents had to move on and head towards Alaska.

I miss them, but I think it's good that they went. I needed an excuse to sleep.

P.S. I took this picture for you.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

For my birthday we went to the Mall and Target and we picked out a very special present for me.

This picture was taken after a lot of shopping. I should have been sleeping - but I was so excited about my presents that it took me a while to nod off.

(Actually the car was dark and taking this picture clued Mom in to the fact that I was not properly restrained in the car seat. See the strap off of my shoulder? Mom fixed it after this picture was taken.)

When we got home we started building my present right away.

That was because Daddy had to go to work for a few days the next morning - and he wanted to build it before he left town.
We both worked really hard to make sure all the right tools were used and all the right pieces were put in the right places.

My present was something I've wanted for months! And it's the greatest thing ever!

It's a kitchen of my very own!

Now I can prepare my own food while Mom and Dad are cooking!

And I didn't have to settle for anything cheap looking or girly.

Everything was available in just the right colors for a manly little dude who still lives with his mom.

Look, I even have the wardrobe!

Never underestimate the power of the man in the puffy hat!

Does this apron make my butt look cute?

This glove is called, "Hot!"

Hmm... these french fries are a little stale.

Let's see what else I can dig up...

Later I thanked Daddy by allowing him to drink from my juice box.

And I thanked Mom by runing out to the store to get some more groceries...

Then I put on my cute new pajamas and watched a new movie.

It was a good day.

Next year I think maybe I'll turn 2 again.
